Mount Dora Lions help local

needy individuals get free eye care every month.

Mount Dora Lions participate in Blood Sugar and Retina Screening. Both are free.

The retina exam uses a portable retina camera. The results are sent to an eye doctor who  specializes in retina care and reviews the images and feedback is then sent directly to the client. .

Dr. Jack N. Schorr is traveling to remote areas of Haiti
to offer free eye exams and glasses to impoverished residents.
Dr. Schorr is a highly regarded professional who has
donated his services to help many hundreds of people
in need of vision testing, eyeglasses, and referrals for
cataract surgery and other conditions.  He exemplifies
the best in Lionism.

Diabetes Awarness and Screeing

The Mount Dora Lions has checked 60 people for possible high or low blood sugar int he past. Each participant received a card with their results which includes a recommendation to see a doctor if needed..

Lions had fun providing an Ice-Cream Social at Camp Challenge in July 2018. Everyone had a great time.

Maranatha Health Expo held on Aug 26, 2018, diabetes screening and retina camera 12-5PM.

38 individuals were screened.
